There are a number of candle supplies with which a novice chandelier should become readily familiar. From wicks and waxes to melters and molds, there are a great many supplies that are essential to creating quality candles. Furthermore, there are also a variety of books and DVD’s that are available to help the beginning candle maker.
Undoubtedly, the number one item on any list of candle supplies is wax, or wax alternative. Most experts recommend starting out by using simple, natural waxes such as beeswax because they are easy to work with. As a chandelier progresses, they will often begin branching out into other mediums such as paraffin or gel wax alternatives.
Molds should also be included on any list of candle supplies. For the novice, a pre-made mold is by far the easiest method for creating your own candles. Once one progresses far enough, building custom molds is quite common.
